unit 9 stop motion

My group of friends came up with this simple stop motion 12 frame film with a pencil and a rubber .

animation unit 9

1. Find another example of cel (traditional) animation, create and write a post/page of your finding.

  • Traditional animation  is an animation technique where each frame is drawn by hand. The technique was the dominant form of animation in cinema until the advent of computer animation . Example shown below
  • A cel is a transparent sheet on which objects are drawn or painted for traditional, hand-drawn animation . Actual celluloid was used during the first half of the 20th century, but since it was flammable and dimensionally unstable it was largely replaced by cellulose acetate

2. State two facts you learnt from watching the video by Sheila Graber (above). Two facts i learn from the video is that she use multiple sheets to create her film . For each drawn picture she writes  e1 j1 in cells . She manage each frame for whats going to happen next . She use black water marker for the final sketching of the animation . The sheet she use was exposure sheet .

STOP-MOTION

Example of a stop motion <iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/9173975" width="500" height="375" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>
  • Stop-motion has been around since the late 19th century. It involves adding movement to inanimate objects. The object was photographed, moved a bit and then photographed again. This process is repeated a number of times. After this, the photos are patched together in order to create animation.

4. Find an example of an animation that has used computer generated 3D. Briefly describe how the animation was made. Add the information to your blog with the title"Computer Generated 3D Animation."

 COMPUTER GENERATED 3D

  • Computer animation, is the process used for generating ANIMATED IMAGES  by using computer graphics . are graphics that use a three-dimensional representation of geometric data that is stored in the computer for the purposes of performing calculations and rendering 2D images. Such images may be stored for viewing later or displayed in real-time

27th unit 9 and time lapse

Today we started by writing down what is a zoetrope . A zoetrope is one of several pre-film animation devices that produce the illusion of motion by displaying a sequence of drawings or photographs showing.
When we finish our first task we then had  to make our own in groups . Our group decided to do a glass with water and it fell over and all the water spill .
thats the drawing of a nine frame animation for the zoetrope , sorry for the wrong rotation. As the water is been filed the cup fell over and all the water spill . when we had finish draw our frame we scan it to our email to do some photoshop work .
I then create frame animation the copy and past each cup in a new layer to get all 9 drawing . i then click the small box at the right of the tool .
Photoshop
open image squence
set frame rate
create blank video layer
layer> video layers > new blank video layer
select tool to draw
make drawings

open
layer menu -> video layers -> new blank video layer
make sure blank video layer is above images
make design

I use the tool brush to sketch around the character then when i finish sketching around all fps i then put in multi color on the character

I fold the tier paper and draw my character above on both sides of the paper. i get a pencil and roll a end of my paper on the pencil to flick it like the gif above. I then go to photoshop , then file go to export and click save for web legacey . Then set the two photos as gif and save it and down then post it on the blog

Add a layer over the background then go to the menu bar then click windows then time line then a box will pop up . when the timeline box appear click create video timeline. Draw a car or a bicycle , when your down add keyframe by clicking on the clock next to position .
steps again:

  3. new layer - transparent
  4. make a drawing - car\ something with wheels
  5. open timeline
  6. select - create video timeline
  7. set first ketframe - click on the clock
  8. move current time indicator to new position
  9. move drawing - with move tool
